In 2022, Do you have a printer? And, do you print documents from Ubuntu? Printing from Ubuntu was a bit difficult 10 years ago, but now, with driverless printing, it’s easy with printers that support Apple AirPrint. Let’s take a peek at the technology behind it.

This talk would include following tech stacks: CUPS, OpenPrinting and Internet Printing Protocol (IPP).

About the speaker

Naruhiko Ogasawara is FLOSS enthusiast in Japan. He continues to be primarily interested in desktop FLOSS. He was a printer vendor with whom he worked until around 2010 and was involved in OpenPrinting Japan. Since then, he has been watching Linux desktop printing trends as a hobby. He is also a supporter of LibreOffice.
